Presented in their natural size and form, our whole hibiscus flowers are ready for brewing – whether on their own or as part of your own custom blend. However you use them, they’ll add a characteristic rosy tone to your cup of Hibiscus Tea.

A Bold, Tart Classic

Hibiscus flowers are best known for their vitamin C content, but their virtues extend beyond the practical. When brewed, the flowers give off a characteristic tart flavor profile that pairs beautifully with a touch of sweetness. And the bold fuchsia color can’t be beaten.

This flower is as versatile as it is delicious. Brew them hot, as-is for an herbal pick-me-up with a surprisingly robust flavor reminiscent of cranberries. For a traditional Mexican classic agua de jamaica, brew the flowers with sugar for 10 minutes and serve iced. For a twist on the classic, add cinnamon and a touch of citrus to bring out the hibiscus’s natural tartness while adding complexity and intrigue to the flavor profile.

Hibiscus is rife with possibilities for customization and experimentation. We recommend brewing it alongside spices or other teas to find the flavor combination that makes your heart sing.

Ingredients

We believe that sometimes, the best tasting experience is also the simplest. Our organic hibiscus flowers contain no added ingredients. That means when you sit down to enjoy a cup, you’ll be able to enjoy all the complexities and nuances of its pure, unadulterated preparation.

This also means it’s excellent for combining with other teas to customize the flavor and make it all your own. Add it to an existing tea blend for a twist on a classic. Or combine it with other herbs to create an uplifting experience all your own.

Health Benefits

Rich in Antioxidants

Antioxidants help fight against free radicals, which cause cell damage over time. Hibiscus’s plentiful antioxidant content helps prevent against the buildup of free radicals.

May Help Lower Blood Pressure

High blood pressure puts extra strain on the heart and has been associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease. Several studies have linked hibiscus tea to reduced blood pressure, indicating that it may help lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Boost Liver Health

Human and animal studies have linked hibiscus to improved liver function.

Cancer-Fighting Properties

Hibiscus is high in polyphenols, which are compounds shown to wield mighty anti-cancer properties. Test-tube studies have shown hibiscus extract has promising effects on cancer cells. While the science is still budding, it’s well worth keeping an eye on this powerful (and delicious) flower.
